Stefan Bradl arrives at first MotoGP race since announcing WorldSBK deal

Ahead of the Austrian MotoGP race this weekend, Stefan Bradl has been discussing his upcoming move to WorldSBK for the 2017 season. Riding alongside Nicky Hayden, Bradl – Moto2 World Champion of 2011 – will make his MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship debut with the Honda WorldSBK Team.

“Looking at the results and the people there, it is going to be tough,” the German admitted during a pre-race event in Austria. “The championship is a little bit different, the bikes are a little bit different and I need some time to be able to adapt to the bikes.

“I think I have the potential to do it and that there are a lot of manufacturers that are very strong. Honda is obviously improving their package for next year, so we have great chances. I will try to get some good results right from the beginning.”

Reminded that he is soon set to be reunited with former Grand Prix paddock colleagues such as Nicky Hayden, Jordi Torres and Sylvain Guintoli, Bradl laughs.

“There are a few people I can talk with – it’s going to be a lot of fun!” he concluded.
